Whilst centered on Catholic education, the curriculum promotes respect for the views, religions and cultures of each individual child, with equal opportunities for all.
The Curriculum of St Philip Neri with St Bede Catholic Voluntary Academy envelops the core teaching of the Catholic Church in order to allow children to feel valued and unique as individuals as well as achieving their true potential and an understanding of their relationship with God.
Our school curriculum is underlined by the values within our Mission Statement:
‘We put Christ at the centre of our lives’.
It not only encompasses the formal requirements of the National Curriculum but also a wide variety of extra-curricular activities which enrich the education of our children. In addition to the academic curriculum, at St Philip Neri with St Bede, emphasis is also placed on the need for promoting personal growth and development in order for each child to grow into positive, responsible members of the community who can work and co-operate with others while developing knowledge and skills in order for their full potential to be achieved.
The school’s goal is to have a holistic approach to education, allowing academic, social, emotional and spiritual development. We therefore endeavour to provide a broad and balanced relevant curriculum which challenges pupils across the full range of national expectations according to their age and ability.
