British Values

British Values

At St. Philip Neri with St. Bede, we recognise that our children not only need to flourish academically, but also spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. This fully prepares them for life in British society and for their role as citizens, able to make the strongest possible contribution to the Common Good of all.  We teach the importance of British Values by going much deeper into the meaning of what it means to live a good life, within a framework of Catholic Christian Values.

In order to support parents with reinforcing this teaching at home, further information about each British Value can be found below.

Definition: The community gives power to the people. Everyone gets to vote for their choice.

Definition: Every person in a society is expected to live by one set of laws in every situation.

Definition: We respect all people and treat them in a way that shows we value them. Being tolerant means we celebrate all people are different.

Definition: Everyone has the right to live and express themselves as they choose. We do not discriminate.
